Experience

Sonia Tame’s principal areas of practice are commercial litigation, class actions, financial and regulatory disputes. She also has extensive experience in professional indemnity and insurance matters and arbitration.

She appears for ASX 200 and multi-national corporations, partnerships, individuals, small business, litigation funders and statutory bodies in a range of matters in the Federal Court of Australia, the Supreme Court, the District Court and Local Court of New South Wales as well as in regulatory inquiries.

Prior to coming to the Bar in 2015, Sonia was a litigation solicitor for over 15 years including 7 years as a partner in the litigation group at Ashurst in Sydney.

Sonia has been listed in Best Lawyers in Australia for Litigation since 2010 and for Government Practice since 2017. She is a member of the NSW Bar Association’s Diversity and Equality Committee and the Legal Qualifications Committee of the NSW Legal Practitioners Admission Board.
