
We are delighted to welcome Dominik Breznik as a reader at New Chambers.
Dominik advises and appears in matters concerning all areas of taxation and commercial law.
Before coming to the Bar, Dominik was a senior associate in the Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer dispute resolution team and an associate at the Federal Court of Australia. He is presently completing a Master of Science in Taxation at the University of Oxford.
Dominik has practiced extensively in large-scale and complex commercial litigation, having advised and acted for clients including major financial institutions, construction and telecommunications companies, and consumer goods manufacturers. He also has experience acting both for and against regulators such as the ATO, ASIC and the ACCC. Dominik has expertise in matters concerning both federal and state taxation, as well as issues of international taxation, including treaty interpretation, transfer pricing and tax residence.
Dominik was awarded a number of prizes and scholarships throughout his studies. These included the James Bullock Scholarship to undertake the MSc in Taxation from the University of Oxford, the Law Council of Australia’s Forsyth Pose Scholarship for his writing on capital gains taxation and placement on the Dean’s list at both UNSW and the University of Sydney.
