Welcome Rebecca Hughes

New Chambers is pleased to welcome Rebecca Hughes as its newest reader.

Rebecca joins us from Ashurst Sydney, where she was a Senior Associate in the Planning and Environment team. Her career has also included four years in Darwin as a senior lawyer at the Northern Land Council, following earlier work at Ashurst in Melbourne.

During her time at Ashurst, Rebecca undertook secondments with Sydney Metro, Telstra, and the Northern Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency in Katherine, NT.

Rebecca has a particular interest and recognised expertise in Indigenous land law. She has been acknowledged in Doyles Guide as both a “Native Title Rising Star” and as a “Leading Native Title Lawyer – Government & Traditional Owner Bodies.”

Rebecca accepts briefs in all areas of commercial and public law.
